A week after the first emission, a new celestial body lit up in the sky. Mercury was burning in fiery swirls of solar energy.
In 15 more days, Mercury exploded. Billions of living beings on Earth turned to dust in an instant. Only the Great City was able to sustain life.
The radiation from the burning Sun and the energy from Mercury's collapsing core transformed all the organic life on the planet outside a Great City into a new, up to then unknown substance. Nectar, so they called it.
